Little Bare Bottoms

The one nice day we had last week without rain was the day we went with my family to Little Bare Bottoms. Little Bare Bottoms is on a farm in Cache Vally. The family that owns it made a water slide in their backyard and rent the area out for family reunions and ward parties. It was a blast, for big kids and little kids!! The slide went clear out to the cornfields and if you weighed enough thats exactly where you ended up, in the mud, in the cornfield. I made it there a couple times.

I wasn't able to get Norman's crash on video, but I got the aftermath. It was pretty funny!

This weeks happenings!

We've had a pretty fun summer so far, (except for the fact that it doesn't feel like summer with all this rain were getting). I'm not playing Lunch Lady anymore because school's out and AJ has been home a lot because he works weekends and his classes this summer are on-line and 1 is in the evening. We've been taking advantage of all of us being home and doing fun things. This past week we took the train to Salt Lake and took the kids to the IMAX theater at Clark Planatarium. We watched a movie about the sea in 3D. The kids loved it and loved exploring the planatarium. Here's some of my favorite pics of that fun day with Arlo and Cache.

Yesterday we dropped AJ off at his class and I took to boys to Union Station. The Disney Train was on tour to promote their new movie the Christmas Carol and we decided to check it out. However, when we got there, there was a line a mile long to go into the train. I hate waiting in lines!! So instead we just played on the big trains on display. I asked a lady who just got off the disney train how long she waited in line and she said an hour and a half and that it so wasn't worth it, so I'm glad we didn't waste our time in line.

Later that evening AJ's work had their company party at the park. We ate good food and the kids played on the blow up bounce houses. They also had a rock wall and a trampoline. AJ waited in line for an hour so Arlo could go on the trampoline. The poor kid didn't know what was coming when he told the attendant that he wanted to go HIGH. Check out these pictures and the video of Arlo flying through the air. We ended the night going swimming. The kids shivering bodies and chatting teeth was a good signal that it was too cold and we ended up leaving soon after getting in. It was a good day!

Most of you that know me, know that I rarely buy anything unless if it on sale and if I have a coupon for it. I'm a couponaholic! I love it!! I love it when I spend $5 and save $50. I love getting things for free and even love more when the store pays me to take things off their selves. I've taught several coupon classes and it's fun to walk in a store and have someone recognize me and point out to their husbands "there's the coupon lady I was telling you about." I get a rush when I save money and I love to share my secrets with others. I'm writing this post to let you all know that I'm taking a business venture and am going to start teaching coupon classes to anyone who wants to learn more about the coupon world. Look alike contest

Arlo has been accused several times, mostly by complete strangers, that he is a Corey Feldman look alike. It actually started getting old when people would say "You know who he looks like?" and we would reply "I know, Corey Feldman." I see pictures of Corey today and I can see a glimpse of what Arlo might look like in his adult life. It's kinda weird. What do you think?

A day out with Flat Maddy

My neice Maddison who lives in Oregon mailed herself to us for a school project and asked that we take her somewhere special so she could get to know where we live. We took her to one of our favorite spots in the mountains near our house for a little hike. There's a really cool rope swing that we just had to try out. It was a beautiful, funfilled day. Thanks Maddy for a wonderful day! Your cousins loved to carry you around and show you the sites. We love you and enjoyed having you. Here's some of my favorite pictures of the day

By the sweat of my brow.

I am 28 years old and I can honestly say that I've never planted anything in my life. And I am known to have killed every plant that has ever been given to me, even the ones that everyone says "you can't kill these." I just don't think that I've been blessed with a green thumb. Well, the house that we live in now came with a very large garden area and I've decided to give it a try and plant a garden. Last summer I was 9 months pregnant and didn't get around to it. With the help of my mom, I headed to the nursery and pick up some corn, bean, and pea seeds. Some tomato plants, green pepper plants, cucumbers, zucchini, squash, and pumkin plants. The past week AJ and I have been workin hard to get the garden ready and today was plantin day. It went well and it feels really good to have it done. The boys helped and Arlo even got his own little plot to plant his own peas and beans. Even Cam joined in the fun, but he mostly ate the dirt. I did however have a blond moment. I'm the type of person who has to have instructions for everything, especially for things I have never done before. And I follow instructions to the tee. When it came time to plant my corn I made sure read and reread the directions. They said to plant the seeds 6-10" apart with rows being 2-3' apart. I was thinking to myself "Wow, 2-3 inches apart is really close together, but oh well, if that's what the instructions say." I read it as 2-3 inches instead of 2-3 feet! And I didn't realize I read it wrong until I had planted 14 rows of corn 3 inches apart!!! I learned today that sometimes using common sense is more effective. It's going to take a couple of months to see how well or how bad I really did with the garden. Here's some pictures of the day. I'm also including some pictures of our new swing set. We bought it used from an online classified and got a really good deal. We were pretty excited about it.
