I'm a Soccer Mom!
Last Saturday was Arlo's first Soccer game. We've been so excited for this day to come when Arlo can start to channel his energy in sports. At this age their games consist of drills for a half hour and playing for a half hour. There's only 4 kids on a team and they play without a goalie so the kids can have more opportunities to score. All of the little kids on Arlo's team had a hard time and at one point they were all crying on the field.
Both of these pictures are Arlo pouting on the field because "they weren't letting him have a turn!" Their whole lives these kids are taught to take turns and share and now they were told by adults to "take it away". I can see why they got frustrated. Hopefully next week will go a little better.

I need a Butt Chewin!!
Today was weigh-in number 3. I didn't do too well this last month with my weight loss journey. I'm not going to make any excuses. I only lost 4 lbs. Definitely not 13 from last month. So let me hear it! Chew my butt, because I really need to get back on track. My goal for the last 4 weeks of the competition is to loose 12 lbs. I can do it! I will do it!

A day on the Slopes!
Today is twenty one of March, my birthday! AJ and I celebrated by going night skiing at Powder Mountain yesterday. It was a beautiful day!! I've been skiing a lot in my youth but it had been about 6 years since I've gone. It was like riding a bike, you never forget. I'm no expert though, I like to take my time and snowplow my way down. For AJ this was his first time downhill skiing. He's very coordinated and athletic so he had confidence in himself that he could do it with ease. Well......he under estimated the sport and the minute he put his skis on for the first time he crashed! It was hilarious! I wish I had a video to show you. There were a bunch of pro snowboarders around that had a good laugh too. We made our way over to the hammer pull to take us about 100 yards up so I could give him a little lesson. We did this three times and let's just say that my first thought was "It's going to be a long night!". We headed to the lift to give the mountain a go. The first trip down was pretty rough for AJ. We even had the ski patrol on our heels giving him pointers. He had a hard time mastering the snowplow and would pick up speed when he turned. Each run he relaxed a little more and got better every time. When we first started I told AJ that I finally found something that I was better than him at. He told me, just wait, the nights not over yet. He was right. By the end of the night he was waiting for me at the bottom of the hill. All in all it was a great night out and cost us the same as it would for us to go out for dinner. The best parts of the night - we never had to wait in line to get on the lift, AJ didn't complain when I led him astray and we had to hike our way back, kissing on the lift, watching the sun set from the top of the mountain, finding my headband after losing it on the previous run, and the best of all - me only falling once and AJ about 20 times! Although he was better than me by the end of the night, I can at least brag about that.

Cam Benjamin
I just had to post these pictures of Cam taking a bath in the kitchen sink. He's growing up way too fast, and I wish I could just freeze time and always have him at this age to enjoy. He's starting to crawl backwards, but gets a little frustrated when he backs himself up against the wall.

I love Walgreens!
Most of you know that I'm a big coupon shopper and I love Walgreens! I get amazing deals there and hardly even spend any money when I shop. This week I loaded up on Huggie Diapers. If I bought everything in this picture, which is 12 packs of diapers and 3 packs of wipes, for regular retail, I would have spent about $150.00. After coupons I spent about $78.00 but got back $40 of register rewards to spend the next time I go to Walgreens. So it was like paying $38.00 for all this! Pretty good deal huh? This week I also got 8 Garnier Haircare products for free after coupons. Just another day in Paradise!
Today was beautiful, 60 degree weather and we took advantage of it by going on a family hike. We hiked up to the waterfall of my childhood and took in the sights of beautiful Brigham City. Arlo climbed a huge rock and of course Cache had to do it too, but his rock wasn't quit as big.

Our week in a nut shell! (a BIG nut shell)
So much has happened in the past week and I hope I can remember it all because it's definatly worth remembering. A week ago last Friday I was leaving for work and right after work for a volleyball tournament that lasted all weekend. AJ was home with the kids and also decided to stay home from work on Saturday and Sunday because Cache and Cam were both sick and we didn't want to leave them with a babysitter. Cam had a really raspy cough and AJ decided to take him to the doctor while I was at work. While on the phone with the doctors office, Arlo threw the toy basket and it hit Cam in the head and left a big bleeding gash on his forehead. Poor little guy.
In one day he was diagnosed with an ear infection, RSV, and had to get his head glued shut. He's been such a little trooper. To make everthing worse my brother was at the house taking apart our kitchen, we got a new sink and new counter tops but we didn't get our kitchen back until Wednesday. While AJ was home with sick kids I was a volleyball tournament in Salt Lake. 
We took 13th place out of 48 teams, so we did all right. These tournaments are hard and take a lot out of me. We play in a warehouse that has 11 courts going at once. Sunday was pretty quiet and uneventful. I played a piano solo in church, which went really well. I had a couple people tell me that during my song they had to look up to make sure they weren't in heaven. That made me feel good. I'm glad I can touch people with my music. After church we went to my mom and dad's house for dinner, (remember we don't have a working kitchen) and the kids played outside on the swing set barefooted in the warm weather.
The next day we got 13 inches of snow! Crazy Utah weather for ya! Sunny warm one day the next buried in snow.
Tuesday we all went to North Salt Lake to pick up Arlo Sr., aka Papa Arlo. He flew in from Oregon for the week to visit and it truly was a fun, eventful week with papa Arlo. We started off by going to Classic Fun Center in layton to let the boys play.
We had the place to ourselves and it was so much fun jumping on the huge bouncers and playing in the pirates cove. Take a look at these funny videos of Arlo and Cache. They had these big pillows that the boys would sit on one end while AJ jumped on the other to hurl them in the air. Arlo was fun to watch. He was so graceful while flipping through the air while Cache looked like a rag doll. They both loved it and wanted to do it over and over again.
Since we were blessed with an abundance of snow we decided to go sledding on Wednesday.
Even Aerl got in on the fun. We hooked his leash up to the sled and he pulled Arlo all over the place. He's such a good Dog. We love him sooooo much!
Thursday was the best day of all. We took Cam to Nana Greats, drove to Ogden and took a train ride to Salt Lake. Arlo and Cache loved the train and it was nice to just sit back and visit. From the train station we walked to the Discovery Gateway Childrens museum. The weather was perfect. After we had our fun there we walked to temple square and took in the peaceful sights. We then headed to Crown Burger for dinner (I didn't do too well on my diet while papa Arlo was here). After dinner we were heading back to catch the train home when we walked past Energy Solutions Arena and noticed that Disney on Ice was there. I wanted to take the kids to this so badly when I found out it was coming to Salt Lake but AJ didn't want to. Well, I got my way and Papa Arlo bought us tickets. We all enjoyed it, even AJ! The kids were so focused and cute during the whole show. Afterwards we headed home on the train. It was a FUN Day.
Friday the kids said goodbye to Papa Arlo and AJ and I took him back to Salt Lake. We ended the week with an adult dinner at the Rodizio Grill. Thanks Papa Arlo for a great week! We love you!

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!
I have three rambunctious boys. Can you guess which one is the good, the bad and the ugly. I'd like to introduce you to the Good
This is Cam Benjamin and he's almost 8 months old. Talk about a breath of fresh air! We love him so much and can't believe how the time has flown, and how big he's gotten. He's one big kid weighing in at around 20 lbs. He's sitting up on his own, scooting all over the place, and bringing smiles to our faces everyday.
Now onto the Bad!
Have you mom's out there ever said these words - "Don't jump on the couch!", "Stop messing around or somebody's going to get hurt!", "Keep your feet on the floor!" Well, these words are in my daily vocabulary. It's never been a question of "if" we ever end up at the doctors for stitches, but "When". This is the rule breaker that ended up getting hurt while jumping on the furniture. Cache Clayton, our 2 1/2 year old that does everything Arlo does but lacks the coordination of his older brother. He was a comedian at the doctors office up until the nurse and myself pinned him to the table while the doctor inserted just one stitch. Yes, it was just one but it might as well of been 10. He screamed and screamed and didn't stop until the doctor asked him what color of sucker he wanted. At the word of sucker all the drama stopped and he excitedly said the only color he knows "Blew". Unfortunately they didn't have a blue one so he settled for a yellow and red one. My dear brave Cache, maybe you'll stop jumping on the couch. I can hope, can't I?
Onto the Ugly
I think Arlo is one of he cutest kids I know but there is nothing cute about this picture. It makes me want to cry to just look at this picture. This happened over the Christmas break and lasted about a week. It was the saddest week of Arlo's life, and one of the saddest of mine. I've never seen him so sick. We went to the eye doctor 2 different times and came home with two different antibiotics. It eventually cleared up but came back this past week. We caught it early and got him on some more antibiotics. The sad thing is is that this will probably happen again when he gets sick because his tear duct doesn't drain like normal and it causes infection. He'll eventually have to have surgery and have a small tube inserted in his eye that will drain the infection. No matter how ugly your eye gets Arlo, you'll still be handsome to me.
